"MIDDAY" (ROOM III.) Part 0
Global view and the Wall of Sorrow
The global view to the main room can give you basic idea about the exhibition. The "Wall of Sorrow" is a glass panel with names of all men perished on this big air battle, as a remembrance to them. All of them were young men and the 11th September 1944 was their most fateful day. |

Global look to the glass wall panel with all names of airmen who died during the battle over the Ore Mountains on September 11th, 1944 On right - detail of the wall |
Flowers below the wall were donated by Dora Fischer, sister of Luftwaffe pilot Heinz Schien, who died on his first combat mission | Our dear friend Sharon Cross, daughter of Lt. William M. Lewis, who was MIA for many years, looks on name of her dad... | |
This glass wall we have build for memory of all men who perished in the battle. We well know who was on which side on the combat for our freedom. We well know who was our ally and who was our enemy - and we do not want to change anything on this history. This is history and none can change it. But we want to give piety to all the men - as you may see on the main idea of the Museum, also on this wall panel. So there are all names in alphabetical order, does not matter who was American and who was German. There are almost eighty names. The "Death" which has "harvest" on our skies on that day, made no difference... All names written on The Wall you may see on this list
